Result:
Delivery of public information to Washington households 3 million to 13 million times each month over a 4-year period through news coverage by print and broadcast news media.
Developed clear, persuasive information that overcame resistance
Result:
A $2 million legislative appropriation
in 1993 to fund a new watershed
protection initiative; A $6.4 million legislative appropriation in 1997 to fund a forest management initiative that provided for three thinning, pruning and fertilizing to increase timber production in every region of Washington.
Provided leadership in creating a nationally recognized education/forest management partnership (community, school district, multiple state/federal agencies).
Result:
Students are gaining real-world education and field experience in managing a state forest that's now known as "Washington's largest classroom".
Coordinated communications for the Washington State Year 2000 (Y2K) Office, organizing and leading diverse teams of public and private-sector experts that quickly and effectively produced a state-of-the-art, three-volume series of comprehensive Washington State Year 2000 Readiness Reports as well as a statewide series of news events and news media briefings.
